Honchos move out as Adidas India goes for overhaul

German sports brand Adidas on Monday announced a major shakeup in its top management, where it replaced its India managing director Subhinder Singh Prem with immediate effect. HT reports.

German sports brand Adidas on Monday announced a major shakeup in its top management, where it replaced its India managing director Subhinder Singh Prem with immediate effect.

The company added that its chief operating officer Vishnu Bhagat has also "left the company with immediate effect".

"Subhinder Singh Prem, managing director of Adidas Group India, and Vishnu Bhagat, chief operating officer of Adidas Group India have both left the company with immediate effect," the company said in a statement.

Adidas did not offer any reason for their exist.

Subhinder Prem, on his part, declined to comment on reasons for the exit or his future plans.

The company has appointed Claus Heckerott as the managing director in place of Subhinder Prem.

Singh, who was earlier managing director of Reebok India was associated with the brand for the last 15 years.

Singh became the managing director only last year.

Heckerott, a Canadian national, has 14 years of senior management experience within the group, the statement said, adding till recently he held the position of vice-president finance global sales.

A leading player in India's sportswear market, the group has strong brands like Adidas, Reebok and TaylorMade -Adidas Golf.

Heckerott will report into Roland Auschel, Adidas

Group's chief sales officer, multichannel markets.
