Aditya Birla group firm Idea Cellular, which has 115 million subscribers, on Monday reported a Rs. 240 crore profit for the July-September quarter against Rs. 105 crore in the year-ago period.
Revenues rose to Rs. 5,314 crore during the quarter against Rs. 4,619 crore a year ago.
Idea increased its operating margin by raising non-voice revenue and optimising cost in terms of subscriber acquisition, advertising and business promotion.
“The overall wireless telecom business outlook for the quarter remains muted,” the company said in a statement.
