Jubilant Foodworks India Ltd (JFL), which operates fast food chain Domino’s Pizza in India, has reported a quarterly net profit of R18.4 crore against R7.8 crore a year ago, a rise of 137.3%.

Total income for the July-September quarter was up 67% from a year ago, at R163.39 crore.

“Our scale and size of operations are key factors which have enabled us to deliver healthy margins this quarter,” said Hari S Bhartia, co-chairman, Jubilant FoodWorks Limited.

The company plans to add 70 stores by March 2011. It has 339 outlets at present.

The company is also looking to hire as many as 2,500 people by the end of the fiscal.

“Every time we open a new store we need around 25-30 people. Every year we recruit 2,000-2,500 people. We will maintain the hiring numbers,” said Ajay Kaul, CEO of the company.
