Engineering and construction major Larsen and Toubro has bagged Rs 1450 crore orders to develop IT and office space buildings. The company secured orders from the country’s largest IT firm Tata Consultancy Services and Godrej Group’s real estate arm, Godrej Properties, L&T said.
“These orders enhance the order book of the company which had secured major design and build orders in the airports, IT Parks and commercial space,” L&T said in a statement.
The orders were won by L&T's newly formed Buildings & Factories Operating Company, which is part of the construction division of the firm.
L&T has a significant market share in IT parks and office space segments. The company also has over Rs 10,000 crore worth orders for the construction of New Delhi and Mumbai airports.
L&T chairman and managing director AM Naik had said the total order book backlog of the company stands at Rs 65,000 crore during the second quarter of the current fiscal and is expected to go up to Rs 75000 crore by the end of the fiscal. L&T shares were down 3.46 per cent to close at Rs 679.20 at the BSE on Tuesday.
