Le Meridien bends rules to boost loyalty

If you happen to be a preferred and loyal guest at Le Meridien, you may be allowed to check in and check out anytime of the day. The hotel, to win loyalty of its customers when competition is increasing while business is slowing down on global economic woes, has initiated an aggressive loyalty programme to hold on to its customers, who have been paying regular visits in the past.

"We value our loyal customers and we want them to feel special and even if they are traveling outside the country, we want them to stay at our hotels, we want to do things which increase the stickiness," Brian Povinelli, senior vice president and global brand leader, Westin and Le Meridien, told Hindustan Times.

The hotel, founded by Air France, has also decided to appoint "ambassadors" to provide personal concierge services to its guests, even when they are not staying in the hotel.

At present, Le Meridien has seven properties in India. It plans to add three more by 2015.
