LLadro to increase presence in India
It is optimistic about the future in the country, reports Chinmai Gupta.
The largest international luxury brand in India, in terms of number of stores, LLadro plans to further expand their presence in the country.
"Over the past few years, we have grown step by step. We already have six stores, extending from Delhi and Mumbai to Calcutta, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. By the end of the year, we hope to increase this number to nine," said Alain Viot, CEO, Lladro, elaborating on the company's expansion plans in the country.
In terms of sales, the Indian market is just at the start for LLadro. "We need to build on the clientele in India and strengthen our relationship with them. We want to make people aware of who we are and what we do, and this is what will help us achieve the double digit sales figures that we strive for," he said.
Optimistic about the future in India, Lladro plans to have a presence in all the major cities of the country. "After that we want to settle down, and just concentrate on the relationship building," explained Viot.
Imbibing local tradition and culture of different countries in their designs, Lladro tries to have an emotional connect with their consumer. "Lord Ganesha and Krishna from India have been the inspiration behind one of our international collections and was greatly appreciated."
With Indian patrons across the world, opening stores in India has helped the company get closer to them, and offer them the best experience in their own country feels Viot.
"Indians are very interested in decorating their homes to make them look special and give them a personal touch. One of our highest selling products in India are the porcelain figurines of Lord Radha and Krishna, through which we have been able to make an emotional connect with our consumer," concluded Viot.
