Clearing its stand on Mauritius, the government on Tuesday said re-negotiation of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) has been resumed.

"As far as DTAA with Mauritius is concerned, for some time talks were suspended. Now, it is resumed," finance minister Pranab Mukherjee said here on the sidelines of a national conference on financial reporting.

The last round of DTAA negotiations with Mauritius got stalled in 2008.

Indian stock markets had tumbled on Monday on reports that investments routed via Mauritius would be taxed.
