Home buyers in Mumbai can now design the interiors of their houses based on Disney cartoons and storylines.
Disney Consumer Products, a part of New York-listed The Walt Disney Company, on Thursday announced a partnership with Mumbai-based Sunteck Realty to launch Disney-inspired homes in Mumbai. Apart from the cartoon characters, the project will also boast of Disney-inspired kids' recreational areas and swimming pools.
The branded apartments from Disney would be a part of Sunteck’s Goregaon luxury project of Sunteck. The company expects the project to generate returns of around Rs 10,000 crore.
“Branded residences are very successful internationally and are now picking up in India,” said Roshini Bakshi, managing director, consumer products, retail and publishing, Disney UTV. “Globally, Disney has been present in various spheres of home solutions.”
“Our association with Disney helps us differentiate our offering from the other players in the market and breaks through the clutter to offer families their dream home,” said Kamal Khetan, chairman, Sunteck Realty.
Sunteck bought 16-acres in Goregaon in February this year for Rs 300 crore.
Developers are currently selling apartments in Goregaon at anywhere around Rs 12,000-15,000 per square foot.
