Koneru Humpy of ONGC won her final game against former World Champion Zhu Chen of China in the toughest and the last leg of the Grand Prix Chess series for women that ended in Qatar on March 5, 2011.

This win means a lot for Humpy. Apart from winning the competition which is touted as one of the toughest in the world and where four of the ex-world women champions and highly ranked players took part, she also got the right to challenge the reigning World Chess Champion Hou Yifan of China.

Humpy is the only women among Indians who has reached upto this level (world title match), and is just one step away from the World Women's Chess Title. Four Times World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand was watching this particular tournament keenly. Anand said, "It's a fantastic win. She has been missing out on a lot of these events."
