A new study has revealed that access to adult content is rapidly growing on mobile devices, as they are individually used.

According to the Juniper Research, by 2012, a total of 250 million people are expected to use their mobile phones or tablets to access adult content, an increase of more than 30 % on current levels.

The Mobile Adult Content report has revealed that mobile devices will become the key distribution channel for adult content, as these devices are often personal as they are usually exclusively used by one individual, News24 reports.

The research found that adult content would continue to migrate to mobile devices, especially as users subscribed to specific services.

According to the report, in Europe and the UK, some operators impose blocks on adult content in order to restrict use, but the research found that such content is usually accessed through Wi-Fi networks where content blocks are unlikely to exist.

The porn industry, which is estimated to be worldwide at 97 billion dollars, has concerns riding high amongst child care activists as young children are increasingly accessing hardcore pornography at a tender age.
