A local court on Thursday gave permission to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct lie detector and brain-mapping tests on Satyam Computer’s’ disgraced founder B Ramalinga Raju, his brother and ex-MD B. Rama Raju and ex-CFO Vadlamani Srinivas.
All the three are currently in jail in connection with the Rs 7,800-crore fraud.
Fourteenth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate K Sudhakar, who is designated to try the CBI cases, allowed the agency to go ahead with the tests anytime within the next eight weeks.
The CBI had moved the court in March, seeking permission to conduct the tests, as the accused were not revealing all details about the fraud.
The CBI has already filed a chargesheet against the three for cooking the books of accounts and inflating the company’s profits and turnover.
