Tata Group's fertiliser manufacturing arm, Rallis India, on Saturday posted a net profit of Rs 14.8-crore, up 58 per cent, in the first quarter of FY 11.
The company's net sales from operations grew by 20 per cent at Rs 196-crore as against Rs 163-crore in the year-ago period. Its gross sales crossed the Rs 200-crore mark at Rs 210-crore.
"The growth in the domestic business was driven by success of the products launched over the last few years, including new products introduced during the year -- Ralligold and Taarak. Overseas business improved thus reflecting positive global trends," Rallis India's Managing Director and CEO, V Shankar, said in a statement here.
The company's new project at Dahej is at advanced stages of completion and will be commissioned during the current quarter, he added.
