Shares of Reliance Capital today surged more than 7% after it posted consolidated net profit of Rs 329.32 crore in the fourth quarter of 2011-12.
Boosted by the smart results, shares of the Anil Ambani Group company opened the day on a positive note and further gained 7% to Rs 311.35 on the BSE.
On the National Stock Exchange, the stock climbed 7.11% to Rs 311.50.
In terms of volume, 4.76 lakh shares of the company were traded on the BSE, while more than 18 lakh shares changed hands on the NSE.
The quarterly result was announced on Saturday.
The company had registered a net loss of Rs 6.46 crore in the fourth quarter of 2010-11.
Rally in the stock was in line with the broader market, where the BSE 30-share Sensex was trading 45.01 points higher at 16,197.76 at 1105 hours.
