Reliance Brands is all set to bring to India the American designer brand Kenneth Cole, which makes clothes, footwear and accessories for men and women. Kenneth Cole watches and sunglasses are at present available in retail stores in India.
Under the licensing agreement, five exclusive Kenneth Cole stores will come up over three years in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai, followed by another 20 in the next five years. The first store will open in the first half of 2012.
The price range for apparel is likely to be around Rs 4,000, though entry-level products will be in the Rs 1,700 range, a Reliance Brands spokesperson said.
Kenneth Cole Productions Inc CEO Paul Blum said, “India promises substantial growth potential for our brand, the country’s economy is growing quickly and development is strong.”
Reliance Brands has joint ventures with Ermenegildo Zegna, Diesel, Paul & Shark, and long-term agreements with Timberland, Quiksilver, Roxy and Steve Madden for India.
