With effect from August 8, 2011, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group companies Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Communications will no longer be part of the list of top 30 companies that form the Sensex—the premier index at the Bombay Stock Exchange. They will be replaced by Coal India and Sun Pharmaceuticals.
This was decided by the Index committee of the BSE in its meeting on Friday.
With this, no ADAG company will be present in the Sensex30 list of companies.
The Two ADA group companies along with Reliance Power and Reliance Capital however continue to be part of the 50 stocks that make Nifty—the premier index of the National Stock Exchange.
Coal India which is now the second most-valued company (by total market capitalisation of Rs248,927 crore) after Reliance Industries (total market cap of Rs284,263 crore), has yet to make its entry into the Nifty50.
