Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has completed the first five months of the current fiscal by continuing the growth tempo in production performance.
The plant has produced 9,28,488 tonnes of Hot Metal, 8,78,073 tones of total crude steel and 8,56,280 tones of total saleable steel during April-August period registering capacity utilisation of 110.8%, 110.2% and 122.2% respectively, RSP sources said.
The production of total Crude Steel and total saleable steel during first five months of the current fiscal was also the best since inception and an increase of 1.9% and 6.1% over the corresponding period last year.
The steel plant produced 1,99,721 tones of plates 675701 tons of HR Coils (total), 1,35,685 tones of HR plates and 25,566 tons of ERW pipes during April-August which was also best ever performance in the respective areas.
In the production of Galvanized sheets (48,992 tons) and ET plates (5,383 tons), the plant recorded growth of 3.8% and 34.6% respectively over the corresponding period last year.
The steel plant has achieved an average oven pushing of 360.2 thereby registering a capacity utilisation of 105.3%, best since inception.
