Rupee down 9 paise against dollar in early trade

The Indian rupee on Thursday depreciated by nine paise to 50.43 against the US currency in early trade on account of heavy capital outflows by funds and increased month-end dollar demand from importers and refiners.
The Indian rupee on Thursday depreciated by nine paise to 50.43 against the US currency in early trade on account of heavy capital outflows by funds and increased month-end dollar demand from importers and refiners.
At the Interbank Foreign Exchange market, the local unit, which had snapped its four-day losing streak on Wednesday and gained 11 paise to 50.34 against the greenback, fell again to 50.43 a dollar.

Meanwhile, the benchmark Sensex on Wednesday dropped by 80.57 points or 0.74 per cent due to profit-booking at higher levels.
