The Sensex on Thursday ended 101 points higher than its previous close, coming down from its intra-day highs.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 17,476.48 points, closed at 17,573.99 points, 101.43 points or 0.58 per cent higher than its previous close at 17,472.56 points.
Reversing its early morning losses, the Sensex rose to 17,778.34 points during the day.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share Nifty ended at 5,269.35 points, a gain of 0.47 per cent from its previous close at 5,244.9 points.
Broader market indices ended flat. Energy, auto and banking scrips saw buying, while realty and metal stocks came under selling pressure.
