A benchmark index of Indian equities Wednesday moved up from opening lows, but was ruling flat about 30 minutes into trade.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,924.02 points, was ruling at 19,985 points, almost unchanged from its previous close at 19,983.13 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was trading at 6,026.7 points, down 0.07 percent.
Broader markets were, however, doing much better. The BSE midcap index was ruling 0.47 percent higher and the BSE smallcap index 0.36 per cent up.
