The BSE Sensex turned negative on Wednesday morning, weighed down by weakness in Wipro after the No 3 software services exporter's outlook disappointed investors.

Wipro forecast muted growth for its mainstay information technology services business and said wage hikes would hurt operating margins this year.

At 9:53am, the 30-share BSE index was up 0.05% at 19,556.06 points, with 15 components advancing. It briefly slipped in the negative after rising as much as 0.5% early.

Wipro shares were down 3.2% at 450 rupees.

The 50-share NSE index was flat at 5,868.10 points.
