Infosys Chairman and Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy on Saturday said that a stable government at the Centre augured well for the country and hoped that the coming budget would focus on inclusive growth.
"We are happy there is a stable government. It is good for the country," he told reporters after the 28th Annual General meeting of the company here.
"They (government) are now free to implement the policies," he said.
Replying to a query, he said he did not have any specific expectations for the IT industry in the budget. "I hope the government brings in inclusive growth".
Inclusive growth was essential for the country to ensure that the poor enjoyed the benefits of growth, he said, adding, "what we want is better focus on health care, shelter and nutrition" for the people.
Supporting a two-party system in the country, he said it is always a stable model and cited the examples of the UK and the US to support his view.
"It is an evolved system of government," he said.
