Cairn India on Friday said it has appointed Sudhir Mathur as chief financial officer (CFO) and member of the company's executive committee.
Mathur "joins Cairn India in early September, 2012 from Aircel Cellular Ltd, where he was the CFO and responsible for strategy, finance, supply chain management and regulatory affairs," the company said in a statement in nNew Delhi.
Prior to Aircel Cellular, Mathur, who was handpicked by Cairn's outgoing managing director and CEO Rahul Dhir, has held senior positions in Delhi International Airport Ltd, Idea Cellular, Ballarpur Industries and PriceWaterhouseCoopers India.
Dhir, who has been the face of Cairn India for six years, has resigned from the company and will quit by the end of August.
Mathur graduated in economics from Delhi University and completed a Masters of Business Administration from Cornell University.
