India's largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has embarked on a massive recruitment drive.

The company, which has already began its recruitment process for 2012-13, has handed out 35,000 letters since August and is looking to give another 10,000 offers. The average annual salary is pegged at Rs 3.2 lakh.

The company has hired 32,000 from campuses across India in the current fiscal (2011-12).

"The campus recruitment process began in August and will continue till February 2012," said Ajoyendra Mukherjee, global head, human resources (HR), TCS. "The first recruits will join in June 2012 and the rest in second and third quarters."

"We started early so that all students are available in the campus and are not away on internships or traineeships," said Mukherjee.

TCS also warned about the fake job scams that are carried out through emails and said that the problem is affecting the whole industry. "People posing as TCS representatives sent out mails with counterfeit TCS and Tata logos and ask them to pay about Rs 14,000 in cash for the job," said Pradipta Bagchi, head, global communications, TCS.
