Christian Blanckaert, Executive VP, Hermes International hristian Blanckaert has been the chairman and CEO of Hermes Sellier, the main subsidiary of the Hermbs Group, since January 1996.
He is also chairman of the board of the French National School of Decorative Arts (ENSAD), and Mayor of VarengevEesur-Mer.
During his career, Christian has served as consultant with the Bostonbased consulting firm, Harbridge House (1971-1976). He was managing director of the 'do-it-yourself ' chain Bricorama (1976-1981), chairman and CEO of ThomsonDistribution (1981-1984), managing director of the SCAC Group (1985-1988) and president of the Comite Colbert (19881996), which groups 70 French luxury companies.
Christian has also written three books, Roads to luxury (1996), Portraits en clair-obscur (2001), and a biography on Roger Salengro (2004).
He is a graduate of the Instituut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, and the Faculty of Law of Paris. Christian has an MBA from INSEAD. He is married and has two children.
