Leading mutual fund player UTI Mutual Fund on Monday said that it plans to launch a unique investors' campaign beginning next month with a view to spread financial literacy.

"We will launch a 100-day campaign called 'Swatantra' which will cover 9,500-kilometres from July 6. The campaign will be kicked-off from Porbandar, Gujarat, and will cover 100 cities pan-India," UTI MF's Chief Marketing Officer, Jaideep Bhattacharya, told PTI in Mumbai.

'Swatantra' is billed as India's journey to financial freedom and is the largest investors' campaign in the country, which will continue till October-end this year, Bhattacharya said.

UTI MF's first campaign will start from Porbandar and end at Kanyakumari. The second campaign will be kicked-off from Jammu to Kanyakumari while the third will be from Guwahati to Kanyakumari.

"Our sole aim is to inculcate financial literacy to investors which will help them take informed decisions. We are going to help people in a holistic manner with financial planning," he said.

In each city, UTI MF will arrange a prospective investors' meet and highlight the importance of financial planning," Bhattacharya said, adding the campaign will be launched in at least 10 local languages.

UTI MF has 144 branches pan-India.
