Tuesday saw the biggest single-day ascent of the Sensex and there were no losers in the index. In the BSE100 there were only six scrips that closed the day lower than on Monday. However, the BSE 500 had quite a few losers, 82.
VK Sharma, research head of Anagram Stockbroking, said: “If we look at the percentage increase in the Sensex, this will rank at 68th. This is nothing great and these kinds of numbers will be common at this level of the index.”
The biggest loser on the BSE 100 is Sun Pharmaceuuticals whose scrip fell by Rs 21.45 (2.27 per cent). HCL Infosystem lost 2.29 per cent, Radico Khaitan 2.43 per cent and ESS DEE Aluminium 2.45 per cent.
Among the well-known names outside the top-10 of BSE500 that lost some ground are NIIT Ltd (down 1.83 per cent) and Proctor & Gamble (1.32 per cent).
