After interrogating one of the nine youth accused of raping a 16-year-old Dalit girl at Dabra village here on September 9, police have come to know that 12, not nine, had raped the girl.
Acceding to the appeal of deputy commissioner Amit Kumar Aggarwal and superintendent of police B Satheesh Balan, the protesting Dalits allowed the post-mortem of Krishan, the victim's father who had committed suicide on September 18.
Krishan's body was taken to the village where he was cremated on Sunday morning.
The superintendent of police said Seetu, the accused arrested on Saturday, had revealed the names of other 11 accused who would be arrested soon.
The police did not disclose the identity of the 11 accused as a caution.
Meanwhile, Indian National Lok Dal secretary general Ajay Singh Chautala condemned the incident and raised question over the silence of local Congress legislators Sampat Singh, Ram Niwas Ghorela and Savitri Jindal on the issue.
He demanded immediate arrest of all accused.
