122 kg poppy husk seized, 3 held

Three persons were arrested with 122 kg poppy husk, which they were carrying in two vehicles on Friday night.

The accused were identified as Gurnam Singh of Khanna, Daljit Singh of Manki village near Samrala and Kamaljeet Singh of Mandi Gobindgarh.

Fatehgarh Sahib CIA inspector Harnek Singh said they caught the accused at a naka in Shamsher Chowk. Two bags with 122 kg of the banned substance were seized, he said.

Inspector Singh said Gurnam Singh was in one car while Daljit Singh and Kamaljeet Singh were in another. Both vehicles were coming from Khanna.

The car in which Kamljeet was travelling bore a press sticker. Whereas, he worked with the Mandi Gobindgarh electricity board, said the police.

A case was registered under the NDPS Act against the accused.

Further investigations in the case are on.
