Police have booked 15 persons for assaulting government servants and torching a roadways bus on national highway-10.

The residents of Ismalia village under Sampla Tehsil had blocked the Rohtak-New Delhi road on Saturday night in protest against the inadequate power supply in their village.

The angry residents of Ismalia village gathered around 9pm on Saturday, but went awry after police tried to disperse the mob by using mild force, in return protesters, who were demanding power supply resorted to stone pelting at midnight.

Protesters blocked the highway for around 10 hours, and they lifted the blockade after district administration gave them assurance to resume power supply at the earliest.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Rohtak SP Vivek Sharma said "A case of rioting, arsoning and assault on government officials have been registered against 15 identified and several unidentified persons, who were responsible for this incident".
