As many as 17,509 students appeared in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 English language examination on Friday. The exams are being conducted in 39 centres all over the city.
However, 11,966 students will appear in the CBSE class 10 exam on Saturday.
According to students and teachers, the English language paper was easy. “Though it was a lengthy paper, it was easy. We all could answer the questions. All of us are just crossing our fingers that the rest of the exams are also easy,” Laxmi, who took her exam at DAV Model School, Sector 15, said.
City-based CBSE counsellor Rakesh Sachdeva said, “All students should stay calm while appearing for the examination, but they panic and forget the answers. The first paper was easy and lengthy, but the students were happy to attempt it.”
Preeti Saxena, who also took the exam at DAV Model School, said, “The paper was good and I am expecting good marks. The main catch will be science subjects because there might be a change in pattern. But students who are preparing since long will be able to handle the pressure.”
The next paper for class 12 is of history on March 4.
