In a horrific incident, a 17-year-old school student was gangraped by six Class 12 students in Teur village near Kharar. Police have arrested two accused while raids are on to arrest his others accomplices.
Those arrested have been identified as Jaspreet Singh and Jagpreet Singh, both residents of Mundi Kharar, while search is on for Maninder Singh from Ballomajra, Sunny and Sumi, both from Desumajra, and an unidentified person, all of whom are at large.
A resident of Kharar complained on Saturday the sexual exploitation of his minor daughter by six boys. In her statement to the police, the victim said she left for school at about 8:30am when one of the accused Jaspreet Singh, who is known to the victim, offered to drop her to school on his motorcycle.
Initially, she spurned the offer, but the accused threatened her into relenting.
Reliving the trauma, the victim said the accused took her to a tubewell in the fields of Teur village, where she was detained for over six hours and sexually exploited by six youths, including Jaspreet. In the evening, the accused dropped her near Sunny Enclave in the car of one of the other accused.
The police recovered the motorcycle used in the crime.
"Looking into the gravity of the offence, teams were constituted to arrest the accused. Within about two hours, two of the accused were arrested. The girl has been medically examined and a case under sections 376-G (gang rape), 366-A (procreation of minor girl) and 363 (kidnapping) of Indian penal code has been registered," informed SAS Nagar SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar.
