Hallmark Public School organised a blood donation camp on its premises at Sector 15 in Panchkula on Sunday. The camp was inaugurated by SS Phulia, deputy commissioner, Panchkula.
Jivtesh Garg, director of the school, said: “The idea is to motivate students so as to raise their level of sensitivity towards important social causes. The educators explained to them their responsibilities towards society and the pivotal role of blood donation.”
A total of 196 people registered themselves and 171 units of blood were collected during the camp. The donors were awarded with souvenirs and certificates. The blood was collected by a medical team from Rotary Blood Bank Society, Sector 37, Chandigarh.
