2.5 lakh devotees visit Vaishno Devi during Navratri

About 2.5 lakh pilgrims from across the country paid obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine during the first seven days of Navratri that started on March 23.

About 2.5 lakh pilgrims from across the country paid obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine during the first seven days of Navratri that started on March 23, official sources said.

About 2.5 lakh devotees visited the shrine while the rush is expected to continue as Navmi will be celebrated tomorrow, the sources said.

"The shrine board has opened all the three gates to meet the heavy rush of devotees," they said adding that every day 30,000 to 35,000 pilgrims are reaching Katra to offer prayers at the shrine."

The Board has made special arrangements for the pilgrims.
