The police arrested a youth and a teenager for allegedly hitting and misbehaving with additional station house officer Mahinder Singh at Sector 22 near Aroma on Monday.

Section 17 station house officer (SHO) Dilsher Singh said the police had installed a check-point at the Sector 22 light point where scooter-borne Neeraj Kumar, a resident of Dhanas, and his 17-year-old friend were signaled to stop at around 6:45 pm as they were without helmets. According to the police, the youth rammed his Activa scooter into Mahinder Singh, as a result of which the cop fell down. After that, the youth reportedly misbehaved with the cops.

SHO Dilsher Singh said investigating officer Ranbir Singh took Mahinder Singh to Government Multispeciality Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, for medical examination.

The youths were arrested under sections 279, 337,332, 353 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Sector 17 police station. The minor was sent to juvenile home whereas local court sent Neeraj to judicial custody on Tuesday.
