A day after the local police arrested a man for allegedly committing theft at a Sector-19 house, his two accomplices were arrested on Wednesday.
The accused have been identified as Bhuvan, 26, and Narinder Negi, 54, both hailing from Uttarkhand. Their aide, Kamal Chander, who was arrested on Tuesday, also hails from Uttarakhand.
Police said the trio used to work as cooks in the city and used to indulge in thefts and snatchings.
In his complaint, Dr Sachin Anand, resident of Sector 19, had alleged that he, along with his family, was out of station. On August 18, when they returned home around midnight, they saw locks of the doors broken and household items lying scattered. When they went inside, they found their domestice help, Bhuvan, and another man, who tried to flee on spotting them. While Bhuvan's aide Kamal Chander was nabbed, the former managed to flee. A bag containing cash and a pearl set was recovered from his possession, but other jewellery and valuable articles were stolen by Bhuvan.
The police on Wednesday procured three-day remand of Kamal Chander. Later, Sector 19 station house office (SHO) Punam Dilawari, with the help of Master Technical Cell, put the mobile phone of Bhuvan on survellieance and arrested him and his accomplice, Narinder Negi, before recovering gold and diamond jewellery from them.
