2 students loot mobile firm employee for betting

Two students were caught looting an employee of a mobile phone service providing company on Saturday.

Two students were caught looting an employee of a mobile phone service providing company on Saturday.


The duo wanted to use the loot money for betting in the ongoing IPL T-20 matches. The accused also confessed that they wanted to earn easy money and wanted to be rich overnight.
They admitted to their crime before the police during questioning. The police produced both them before the court of the duty magistrate on Sunday, who in turn remanded them to two days police custody.

The accused Gobind Kumar (19) and Rahul Kumar (20) of Gill colony, Lohara, were nabbed by the police on Saturday, soon after they looted Saurav Singhal, an employee of a mobile phone service providing company near Dhandhari.

The accused thrashed Saurav and snatched a bag consisting Rs 10,000 and 20 sim cards.
Investigating the matter, sub-inspector Satwinder Singh Guram, incharge at police post Dhandhari said the Gobind Kumar is student of civil engineering at RIMT College of Education, Mandi Gobindgarh and Rahul Kumar, a student of Polytechnic College at Sidhwan Bet.

Gurm said the police have been investigating to know about past criminal record of the accused. A case under section 382 and 34 has been already registered against the accused in this regard.
