24-year-old held for raping minor

A 24- year-old man was arrested on charges of raping a minor girl on Friday. Giving details, police said the accused was booked for abducting and raping the 14-year-old girl. The victim alleged that Ajit Kumar, a resident of Colony Number 4, abducted, raped and threatened her on Friday.

Deputy superintendent of police (DSP East) Parminder Singh said the accused is a neighbour of the victim and was known to her. The girl alleged that the accused forcibly took her to his tenement and raped her on Friday. The minor said the accused also threatened her with dire consequences.

She then narrated the incident to her parents following which they lodged a complaint with the police. The girl’s medical examination was conducted which confirmed rape, following which a case was registered.

The victim’s parents are Class-IV employees with a private company. The accused, who works as a labourer, was arrested from Colony Number 4.

The accused was booked under sections 363, 366, 376, 342, 506 of the IPC and section 4 of the POCSO Act.

Meanwhile, a woman alleged that her husband’s uncle took her to a Sector-45 guest house and raped her two days ago. A case of rape has been registered.

The woman is separated from her husband for the past few months. Her two children are in the custody of her husband.
