A 27-year-old man hanged himself to death at his fiancé's house at Kishangarh on Wednesday. Police sources said the victim, identified as Rohit Kumar, called up his father before ending his life.

Kumar, hailing from Himachal Pradesh, was staying in Chandigarh with his fiancée Kamini and recently shifted to Shimla. He had gone to Jaipur last week, for some official work.

On Tuesday he came to meet his Kamini at Kishangarh and stayed overnight. She went to her job after leaving behind Kumar.

Kamini kept calling Kumar early in the morning but he failed to respond. When she reached her residence, Kumar was found hanging from the ceiling fan.

Police sources said that no suicide note had been recovered from the spot. Kamini, however, told the police that Kumar appeared to be in depression and had not responded to her queries in this regard.

A case has been registered and inquest proceedings have been started.
