Three people died and 22 others sustained injuries after a canter toppled near Kharkhera village of Meham town in the district on Sunday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Mahinder Singh, Bala Devi and Ramphal from Karnal district.
The victims were admitted to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak.
As per details, the group was on their way back after visiting a religious place in Rajasthan. The incident occured when the driver of the vehicle lost control on the pot holed Hisar-Rohtak road.
The police reached the spot and rushed the victims to PGIM, but three of them died on the way to the hospital. Police said that most of the victims were women and dead bodies of the deceased were handed over to their family members after postmortem. A case has been registered against the driver and investigations have been initiated into the case.
