3 get 10 years imprisonment for raping minor

The accused who were sentenced to imprisonment are Harvinder Singh of Bham village in Gurdaspur district, Rachhpal Singh of Roranwali village of Gurdaspur district and Mandeep Singh of Rupnagar.
According to prosecution story on August 9, 2011, the 17-year-old girl, who was a student of Class 12 in Kurali, did not reach her home after school hours and went to Kurali bus stand. The accused Harvinder Singh, who was a 'Paathi' in gurdwara met her there and offered her juice.
Following this, she fell unconscious and the accused took her to a gurdwara in Rupnagar, where she was raped by the accused. Thereafter, she was taken to Gurdaspur district, where again she was raped repeatedly by the accused.
The Police had registered a case under sections 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 376 (punishment for rape), 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on September 23, 2011, and have arrested the accused.
On the completion of the trial, the Rupnagar sessions judge Amarjot Bhatti held the three accused guilty of crime and sentenced each of them to 10 years rigorous imprisonment under section 376 (2) (g) of the IPC and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each of them. The judge further ordered that in default of payment of fine they would have to further undergo imprisonment for three months.
The Judge also sentenced each of them to five years imprisonment under section 363 of the IPC and imposed a fine of Rs 3,000.The judge also ordered that in default of payment of fine, each of them would have to further undergo imprisonment for one month.
