36 Haryana sportspersons to get police jobs

The Haryana government has now offered employment to 36 outstanding sportspersons in the ranks of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Inspector and Sub-Inspector in police department.


An official spokesman said that a decision to this effect was taken in a meeting presided over by Chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

He said that four sportspersons were offered jobs as DSPs, 18 as Inspectors and 14 Sub-Inspectors. They were offered employment opportunities as per the policy of the state government to encourage outstanding sportspersons.

During the last five years, the government had offered employment opportunities under sports quota to 84 sportspersons. These included 16 DSPs, 25 Inspectors and 43 Sub-Inspectors. As many as 26 were women, of which five were offered jobs as DSPs, five as Inspectors and remaining 16 as Sub-Inspectors.
