4 get 10-yr jail for looting friends at knifepoint

Additional district and sessions judge Shalini S Nagpal on Friday awarded 10-year jail each to four persons guilty of looting four friends at knifepoint.

The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 5,000 each on convicts Sonu alias Bakriwala (25) and Arjun alias Muliya (20), both residents of Mauli Jagran, along with Vikasnagar resident Rajan alias Dabbu (20) and
Indira Colony resident Dharampal(24).

The UT police had arrested the accused on the complaint of Paramjeet Singh, who runs a confectionary shop in Manimajra, on November 25 last year.

According to the complaint, on November 25, Paramjeet was standing outside his shop along with his friends - Sawan Verma, Pankaj and Rajinder alias Raju - when the accused had looted Paramjeet and his friends of a bracelet, gold ring and cash amounting to Rs 4,000 at knifepoint.
