5 UBS students placed for Rs 15 lakh per annum, many more companies lined up

Five students of University Business School (UBS), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, have got placements in one of the top companies in India and have been offered the salary of Rs 15 lakh per annum. As many as 19 companies have visited the campus so far and nearly 72 students have already bagged the lucrative job offers from many reputed companies.

The average salary package offered to a UBS student is between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh. The students Anshul Chhabra, Haramanpreet Singh Baweja, Parul Jindal, Pooja Nema, and Abhinav Verma have been placed with a salary of Rs 15 lakh per annum with the Trident Group.

UBS faculty placement coordinator Tejinderpal Singh said, "As many as 20 companies have recruited 72 UBS students from the campus and 15 more companies are lined up to lay their hands on the future managers."

He also said that in just three weeks, out of total 140 students, half of the batch had secured their futures already.

According to information, Ernst & Young picked up six students, ICICI selected 12 students, HDFC five students, Kotak picked up two students, SBI Life picked up five, Religare picked up two students, Avery Dennison picked up two students, Newgen selected three students, Mahyco selected four students, TCS grabbed four students, Heildelberg Cement picked up five students, Coffee Day Group picked up two students, Defteam selected two students, Wipro selected four students, Smart Cube selected one student, Trident group selected five students, Bluedart selected four students, Click Labs selected three students and Ethos selected one student.

The placement season this year has been a great success and all the top companies from all the major sectors like BFSI, consultancies, IT and agriculture, have participated in it.

"The response so far has been good and the market seems to be doing well. The companies are valuing talent which is sign of a sustainable economic growth,"said Tejinderpal.

Many reputed companies have also shown their interest in the placement process this year and companies like Avery Dennison, Café Coffee Day Group, Heidelberg Cement and MAHYCO visited the campus for the first time.

"It is like a dream come true and the potential of growth is unmatched in this sector. My efforts combined with the pedagogy of the UBS have paid off. You just have to be sincere and diligent in your efforts,"said Anshul Chabbra, who has been placed with the Trident Group.
