Asserting that there were no intelligence inputs in militant attack on the Amarnath yatra, inspector general of police, Jammu, Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday said 50 militants were still getting training in camps operating in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
"There are no inputs regarding militant attack on Amarnath yatra. Security forces are geared up to counter any militancy-related activity," Mr Singh told reporters after reviewing final arrangements for annual Amarnath yatra, scheduled to begin from June 25.
The IG said, "One of the militants arrested recently in Poonch disclosed that 50 militants are being trained in the camp across the fence."
He added that these militants can attempt to sneak into the Indian territory.
On recent ceasefire violations by the Pakistan in Poonch, the IG Jammu said attempts were being made by the neighbouring country to push militants in Jammu and Kashmir but security forces are on high alert and foiled all their nefarious designs.
"In 2011, infiltration attempts were made but thwarted successfully by our forces," he added. He said all arrangements for the Amarnath yatra were finalized and the security agencies have also been put in place for smooth and incident free pilgrimage.
