According to him, he has also cycled through South-East Asian countries such as Thailand, Lagos, Vietnam and Cambodia, and has pedaled about 3 lakh kilometers till date. He has been creating awareness about water conservation, communal harmony and maintaining ecological balance by giving lectures and doing road shows. He claimed to have given lectures in over 600 schools, colleges and universities in the last 18 years.
“During all these years I have visited the homes of hundreds of soldiers who have laid down their lives to safeguard our freedom,” said Yadav, adding that he was at the place of action during the Kargil war.
“I used to post letters of the soldiers to their families,”he recalled.
A poet, Yadav said his poetry book ‘Salam Sainik’ was released by former president Abdul Kalam last year.
