The Punjab government on Thursday transferred six IAS and two PCS officers with immediate effect, changing the principal secretary as well as the director of the rural development and panchayats department.
Financial commissioner Roshan Sunkaria will now head the rural development and panchayats department in place of principal secretary A Venu Prasad, while Sukhjit Singh Bains has replaced C Siben as the director of the department.
Venu Prasad has been posted as secretary, higher education; Siben has been made executive director, Punjab State Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation, after his return from one-month training period.
The other IAS officers with fresh portfolios are Kirpa Shankar Saroj, secretary, printing and stationery, in addition secretary, welfare of SC/BC; and Amit Dhaka, managing director, Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation.
The reshuffled PCS officers are Neeraj Kumar, joint secretary, revenue; and Avneet Kaur, assistant commissioner general, SAS Nagar; appointed against vacant posts.
