A Surrey man has been charged with murder after his 64-year-old wife was found dead at their Newton home on Sunday afternoon.
Harbans Singh Pandher, 67, was charged with second degree murder of his wife Jaswant Kaur on Monday.
Police arrested Harbans on Monday afternoon from his home in Newton.
Surrey RCMP found the woman dead inside the house and suspected foul play. Pandher was taken into police custody, but was not charged until Monday afternoon.
"It is too early to say anything but the preliminary investigations reveal that it is a case of domestic violence," said Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) staff sergeant. Jennifer Pound in a statement.
Reports suggest that the witnesses saw a girl running outside and yelling for help, claiming her grandmother has been killed.
