Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers, to make people aware about the agendas and policies of the party, organised Jhadu Yatra in Rupnagar on Monday.

The procession started from local Bela Chowk and passed thorugh the main streets of the town before culminating back at where it was started.

The AAP workers, led by district convener Bhag Singh Madan, were carrying brooms in their hands and raised slogans in favour of the party and against corruption.

While addressing the party workers, various speakers, including Bhag Singh Madan and Gurmukh Singh Laungia said the successive governments of the country had failed the people and indulged in corruption and economic exploitation of the people in connivance with capitalists and industrialists.

They said anti-people policies of the governments resulted in price rise, unemployment, illiteracy and poverty.

The AAP workers called upon people to discard the corrupt leaders in the coming Lok Sabha elections and ensure the victory of "clean and honest"candidates of AAP for eradication of price rise, unemployment, illiteracy and poverty.
