Unfazed by its lackluster performance in the Lok Sabha (LS) polls, the AAP on Wednesday announced that it would contest all the seats in the Haryana assembly elections due in October this year.

At a party meeting chaired by senior AAP leader Yogendra Yadav here, senior leader SP Singh, who had contested from Ambala in the LS polls, said that the AAP would field candidates in all 90 constituencies.

“The AAP’s vote share in Haryana was nearly 4%, which is very encouraging for a rookie front like ours,” Singh said.

He said that the people of Haryana had shown faith in the AAP and that this phenomenon could be explored further. The list of candidates would be announced much in advance, he added. However, Singh admitted that the Modi wave had spoiled the AAP’s prospects.

National executive member, Naveen Jaihind, who had contested from Rohtak, said that the faulty allocation of tickets and resource constraints were amongst the reasons for the AAP’s poor perfor mance. However, he said that the party would be strengthened before the assembly elections.

Several candidates who contested in the LS polls and members of the state executive were present at the meeing.
