After facing a humiliating defeat in its Lok Sabha election debut in Haryana, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to reconstitute the state and district-level committees by appointing a mix of old, new and experienced faces with an aim to make impact in the coming state assembly polls.

The party’s top two state leaders and members of the national executive committee — Naveen Jaihind and Yogendra Yadav had hit out at each other on the reason behind the party’s drubbing.

Jaihind, who lost his security deposit against Congress heavyweight Deepender Singh Hooda from Rohtak Lok Sabha constituency, had held Yadav, who was in-charge of the state party affairs, for the loss.
Yadav, however, had demanded action against Jaihind for raising the party’s issues in the public.

Talking to HT over phone, Jaihind said according to new decision taken in Sunday’s national executive meeting in Delhi, the state level and districtlevel committees would be reconstituted by inducting loyal, hard working and sincere volunteers instead of opportunists.

He said a report would be prepared within a fortnight on the existing status of party in Haryana and the same would be handed over to party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal for chalking out strategies to have a revamped unit ahead of the Haryana polls.

Without naming anyone, he hinted that several known faces who were inducted in par ty during the Lok Sabha polls in state-level committee may not find a place in the party to send a stern message to those who entered the party with ulterior motives.
